The Missing Diamond
Detective Rohan was enjoying his morning tea when his phone rang.
"Sir, the royal diamond is missing!" said the museum manager in a panic.
Rohan quickly reached the museum. The glass case where the diamond was kept was broken. The guards swore they had seen nothing.
Rohan examined the floor and found muddy footprints leading to a window. "Strange," he thought. "It hasn’t rained for a week."
He turned to the manager. "Who was the last person to clean this room?"
"A new cleaner, Ravi," the manager replied.
Rohan smiled. "Call him here."
When Ravi arrived, his shoes had dried mud on them. Rohan pointed at them. "Where did you go this morning?"
Ravi hesitated. "I… I was at the park."
"But it didn’t rain recently," Rohan said. "You must have stepped in mud last night, near the museum garden!"
Ravi’s face turned pale. "H-How did you know?"
Rohan took out a small glass shard from his pocket. "This was stuck in your shoe. It’s from the broken case!"
Ravi had no words. The guards searched his bag and found the missing diamond wrapped in a cloth.
"You are under arrest!" the police said.
Rohan sipped his tea and smiled. "Another case solved!"
